In this conversation, Jason Eaton-Lynch, the director of elder services at The Center on Colfax, will go over the ever-changing LGBTQ+ vocabulary and explore how you can move from a friend to an advocate. At The Center, Eaton-Lynch directs West of 50, a welcoming space for older adults in the LGBQT+ community and their allies to enjoy classes and activities focused on creative aging.

From this training, you will learn:

  • The significance of current LGBTQ+ terminology
  • Develop an understanding of pronoun usage
  • Learn about the barriers the aging LGBTQ+ community faces
  • Develop strategies to help the community navigate a hostile world
