This week’s topic – How Can Artificial Intelligence Help My Everyday Activities?

In today’s session, Rick Planos will provide a basic introduction to AI and its practical applications. His tips will focus on fundamental concepts and free, accessible tools. This session is not intended as a philosophical or political discussion on AI but rather a practical guide to using this technology to streamline everyday tasks.

Bio:

Rick Planos is an accomplished leader known for his dynamic presence in both the for-profit and non-profit realms. Born outside Chicago, Rick is a third-generation Evanstonian. Rick‘s academic journey took him from Evanston Township High School to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a degree from the Gies College of Business. He later earned graduate degrees from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in Secondary Education and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern in Non-Profit Leadership, both earned after the age of 50. After raising two successful, now adult, children, Rick made a pivot for his ’third chapter’ into non-profit work, including multiple projects for AARP-Illlinois. In 2023, Rick was awarded the Ethel Percy Andrus Award from AARP for his multiple volunteer contributions.

Rick‘s successful career and busy family life have seamlessly transitioned into an even more fulfilling phase of volunteerism, blending his professional acumen with the compassionate values instilled by his parents and grandparents and enriched by the lessons from his children and grandson. Rick Planos embodies the ethos that it’s never too late to learn and make a meaningful impact in the world.
