This showcase features short films highlighting the power of connection. We will be screening the following films:
Friend of a Friend: Created entirely by a group of older students from an Institute of Learning in Retirement, this documentary short turned into a passion project about how older adults foster community to combat social isolation and loneliness.
Every Monday Night: Hit the courts with this group of 70+ basketball players who formed friendships through a pickup league in Oakland.
Stand Down: This documentary shares the hope and support of the thousands of volunteers who run "Stand Down" events providing supplies and services to homeless veterans.
Welcome to Recovery Cafe: A documentary that reveals that good nutrition, connection and community are the antidotes to isolation, loneliness and recidivism.
