In February 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed an executive order that moved nearly 120,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans into 10 isolated war relocation centers in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. The barracks and guard towers are gone now, but the memories remain for people who spent years of their lives in the centers.
Hear the story of one of those centers: Minidoka, which housed 13,000 people in sub-par conditions for the remainder of the war. Learn about this shameful period in American history and what happened to Japanese Americans before, during and after the war.
