Discover the fascinating stories behind our favorite cookbooks, starting with the 1796 “American Cookery,” the first cookbook by an American and the first to include indigenous ingredients like cranberries, peanuts, maple syrup and corn.  We’ll also explore classic cookbooks like the Fannie Farmer, Joy of Cooking, Betty Crocker, and Julia Child cookbooks as well as food magazines like Gourmet, which launched in the ‘40s.
