Many of Edgar Allan Poe’s tales offer ideas on the afterlife and how the living can communicate with the dead. In this virtual presentation on Poe and the rise of the Spiritualist movement in America by Emma Clark, programs coordinator at the Poe Museum in Richmond, Virginia, we’ll explore how he took advantage of the movement to share stories of death and life and whatever comes in between. Hear about Poe’s connection with the movement and find out how he inadvertently influenced their beliefs.
