All states and the District of Columbia have a Long-Term Care State Ombudsman who helps address concerns and complaints about nursing homes and other long-term care facilities. People getting care in their home may also have access to a Home Care State Ombudsman. In addition to helping people resolve problems related to their health, safety or their rights, ombudsmen advocate for improvements in the long-term care and home care systems.
Learn how the ombudsman program in your state can help you or a loved one, from featured panelists Kelly Richards, the Illinois Long-Term Care State Ombudsman, and Joe Danner, Deputy Illinois State Home Care Ombudsman.
