Please join us for our AARP Utah University Workshop, "Staying Active with Age: Exercise to Prevent Bone and Muscle Mass Loss." You’ll learn how exercise builds bone mass density as well as muscle mass - both of which are imperative components of healthy aging. Declining muscle strength is a chief cause of falls and eventual loss of function and disability in older adults. We’ll do some exercises that will help you protect your bones and strength during class, so be prepared by dressing comfortably!
Paige Corley, Health Educator for Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services, will be our expert on this topic. Paige has had a successful career as a fitness professional and works closely with the older adult population because fitness is a path to increased quality of life and sustained independence.
