Chocolate in 18th-Century Virginia
Get a taste of how chocolate was prepared and enjoyed during the 1700s.

The Virginia Museum of History and Culture, whose collection of early recipe books and tools provides insight on how chocolate was produced, prepared and enjoyed in 18th-century Virginia, will guide this culinary journey into the past. In addition to tracing the history of early chocolate consumption by Virginians, participants will see a live chocolate-making demonstration using reproduction cooking tools and equipment.
