Lessons on Social Justice & Religious Understanding

Learn about the legacy of philosopher and theologian Howard Thurman.

About the Event

Twentieth-century mystic, poet, philosopher and theologian Howard Thurman, who was influential in the civil rights movement and a mentor to Martin Luther King Jr., conveyed important lessons about social responsibility. He also modeled interreligious openheartedness. This session of AARP Connecticut’s Faith in the Neighborhood series, presented by Hartford International University for Religion & Peace, will share a fresh look at Thurman’s legacy.
