Get a kit. Make a plan. Be informed. AARP New Hampshire is partnering with the American Red Cross to promote emergency preparedness for adults age 50-plus. This presentation will offer safety tips, tools, and resources to help you get ready for and respond to emergencies. You’ll learn how to prepare your household for an approaching disaster such as a hurricane or blizzard or wildfire, for example. We'll cover items to include in your go kit should you need to evacuate to a safer location. And we'll consider how to tailor your plan for hazards like flooding or tornadoes that are specific to your region.

Each year, emergencies such as severe weather and home fires impact many lives. Being prepared can make a big difference, especially for older Americans with mobility and health complications. You’ll leave this workshop with a clearer idea of the steps you need to take!
