Healthy Aging: Reconnecting the Socially Isolated to their Communities

We’ll share some tips on -- and tales about -- helping socially isolated loved ones re-engage in their communities.

Our panelists for this session will include Dr. Joe Casciani from The Living to 100 Club, Kristen Amicone from San Diego Oasis, Jenny Chou from LifeSTEPS, and Corina Pangelinan from Jewish Family Service of San Diego. The session will be moderated by Dr. Lisa Rill from Senior Life Source and the panel will discuss:

-How to guide the conversation about the importance of social interaction and encourage older adults to reconnect in ways that are comfortable and safe for them

-Tips on how to assist your loved one with safely re-engaging

-Stories of how older adults have safely re-engaged in community

-Resources for finding community events and other opportunities for social interaction
