Money Matters: A Financial Workshop to Empower Women

This workshop is part of a series providing a grounding in key financial fundamentals, from developing a savings strategy and managing debt to investing and planning for retirement.

In this workshop, “Financial 411,” we’ll cover the needs of “Golden Girls”:

• Defining what retirement may look like
• Identifying what non-negotiables may exist in different retirement scenarios
• Understanding the many considerations around retirement lifestyles

The workshop is part of a yearlong series that aims to address the disparities in levels of financial literacy, retirement savings, investment and financial security among women, and especially among African American women. These financial empowerment workshops will address essentials such as developing a savings strategy, debt management, investing basics and retirement planning. Although this series targets African American women, the information provided can potentially benefit all audiences, and all are welcome!

The facilitator for this workshop is Erika Alexander, who holds a Master’s of Science in Management with an emphasis in financial management and is a Certified Financial Education Instructor.
