Fitness: A Workout to Strengthen Your Bones
Learn how exercise can increase bone density from American Council on Exercise (ACE)-certified instructor Mitch Menik.
Are you coping with osteopenia or osteoporosis? In Bone Strengthening Class, instructor Mitch Menik will guide you through aerobic standing, stretching and chair exercises designed to mildly stress the body. This type of mild stress causes the skeleton to produce more bone tissue and strengthens the muscles that support the skeletal structure. These movements also help increase overall flexibility and improve balance to lower the risk of falling. Breathwork helps oxygenate the blood.
Mitch Menik, who also specializes in Yoga, QiGong and meditation, primarily works with adults age 55 and older and holds an ACE Senior Fitness Specialist Certification and an ACE Orthopedic Exercise Specialist credential.
Participants of all experience levels and abilities are welcome. Please consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.
