In this fun talk, food historian Francine Segan will share the backstories of America’s favorite bubbly drinks.

Did you know that root beer was first sold in pharmacies in the U.S., back in the 1840s? Or what ingredient put the “coca” in Coca Cola?

Food historian Francine Segan, an expert on Italian cuisine, will share the fascinating stories behind your favorite soda brands and flavors, including cherry coke, cream soda, Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew, 7 UP and more. Learn how soda fountains got their start, and hear about the current growth of soda shop chains and how to cook with soda.
