Tune in for an interesting dive into the history of Beethoven and how his music changed throughout his life. Join OLLI Mason, AARP Virginia and attendees from across the U.S. for a free virtual event on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2:15 p.m. ET - AARP membership not required.

An overview of Beethoven’s life in Bonn and Vienna, and his connections with the other major figures of his era. Examples of Beethoven’s compositions will be featured and placed in a timeline illuminating how his style changed throughout his life.

Fritz Gearhart has over 30 years of teaching experience in classical music as a classical violinist. He directed a study abroad program in Vienna for college students in 2015, and is currently Full Professor at the University of Oregon.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University (OLLI Mason) provides intellectual and cultural experiences in a welcoming atmosphere to Northern Virginia residents in their retirement years. AARP Virginia is excited to collaborate with them to provide a sampling of their semester classes!
