A beginners introduction to the paper folding art of Origami--no experience needed! Join AARP and attendees from across the U.S. for a FREE Origami class on Tuesday, February 1, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. ET – AARP membership not required.

Engage with us live on Zoom and learn about sthe intricate art of paper folding. This class will discuss the history of this ancient art, including the types of folds, the symbols used, and the common bases used in the art, and then allow you to experience the art of Origami during the workshop. The instructor will teach you how to fold origami from and participants will create at least one unique piece of art with a Valentine feel and leave with other suggested Origami art pieces.

Origami: the art of paper folding. Its name derives from the Japanese words ori (“folding”) and kami (“paper”). Traditional origami consists of folding a single sheet of square paper (often with a colored side) into a sculpture without cutting, gluing, taping, or even marking it.

This event is FREE but registration is REQUIRED.
