Presented by Stonewall National Museum & Archives

Join us on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 6:30 pm for a ZOOM conversation with artist and filmmaker Sasha Wortzel.

Blending the archival and the imaginary, Sasha Wortzel's films, installations, and performances map the ways that structures of power haunt and inextricably shape our contemporary landscape.

Joined in conversation with SNMA Executive Director Hunter O’Hanian, Wortzel will present on three recent films – Happy Birthday, Marsha! (2018; co-director Tourmaline), We Have Always Been on Fire (2018), and This is an Address (2020) – that utilize gaps in the archive as creative departure points for reimagining queer histories and narratives of political resistance that have been marginalized or systematically excluded from the official record.

The event, free and open to the public and will be conducted via ZOOM.
